Our story
About Love & Light
We’re a tiny bakery with a loud love for dough, glaze, and the people who line up for both. Everything is made in small batches so freshness wins over flash.
Why we’re here
Love & Light started as a simple idea: serve donuts and coffee that feel handmade—craggy edges, real vanilla, espresso with crema you can see. We keep the menu plant-based because it’s how we like to cook, and because neighbors keep asking us to open the doors early.
How we bake
Yeast dough gets an overnight rest when we can spare the time. Cake batters are mixed the day you taste them. Glazes are whisked in small bowls so colors stay bright and flavors stay honest. If something runs out, we’re sorry—and we’ll point you to what just came out of the fryer.
Sugar House
You’ll find us on Highland Drive, wedged between errands and dog walks. Wednesday through Sunday mornings are our rhythm: open at nine, close at two, or when the case goes quiet. It’s a small window on purpose—we’d rather nail a few hours than stretch a thin day.
Dietary notes
Our kitchen is plant-based. Gluten-friendly treats appear on select days; because we fry and glaze in shared space, we can’t promise a celiac-safe environment. Tell us what you need at the counter—we’ll be straight about what’s possible that morning.
